RÉNOVATION DE L'AMERICAN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

Erigé en 1922, l’American Memorial Hospital est le fruit de la coopération franco-américaine et de l’action de trois femmes : le Dr Marie-Louise LEFORT, médecin pédiatre, Mme Edith BANGS, présidente du Comité américain et Mme Jeanne KRUG. Ce bâtiment chargé d’histoire est un lien précieux entre le Comité américain, le CHU et notre territoire.

Face au développement des activités pédiatriques au sein de l’établissement hospitalier, ce projet de rénovation poursuit un double objectif : continuer à faire vivre ce bâtiment historique tout en conservant sa mission première d’accueil des jeunes patients et leurs familles.

Set up in 1922 the American Memorial Hospital is the result of French American cooperation and the work of three women Dr Marie Louise LEFORT, pediatrician, Mrs Edith BANGS, president of the American Committee and Mrs Jeanne KRUG This building steeped in history is a precious link between the American Committee, the CHU and our territory.
In response to the development of pediatric activities within the hospital, this renovation project has a dual objective First, bring back this historic building to life Second, maintaining its primary mission in the welcoming of young patients and their families.

UN SYMBOLE DE L’ARCHITECTURE RÉMOISE ET DE L’ÉPOQUE ART DÉCO
A SYMBOL OF REIMS’ ARCHITECTURE AND THE ART DECO PERIOD

Ordre, couleur et géométrie, l’architecture de l’American Memorial Hospital répond parfaitement aux codes de l’Art Déco : des lignes simples, des compositions classiques et un emploi parcimonieux du décor.
A l’intérieur, essentiellement dans le hall d’entrée, classées aux Monuments historiques, des fresques réalisées par le peintre franco-américain Robert La Montagne Saint-Hubert, avaient pour objectif d’adoucir le séjour des jeunes malades.

With its particular colors and geometry, the architecture of the American Memorial Hospital resonates with the codes of Art Deco direct lines, classic compositions and a parsimonious use of ornement.
In the entrance hall are frescoes realized by the Franco American painter Robert La Montagne Saint Hubert Classified as Historic Monuments, they used to soften the stay of young patients.

Notre projet de rénovation a pour vocation de centraliser les activi­tés de la psychiatrie infanto-juvénile, de la petite enfance à l’adolescence à travers la rénovation et la réhabilitation des bâtiments et le transfert des activités de pédopsychiatrie.

Our renovation project aims to centralize the activities of child and juvenile psychiatry, from early childhood to adolescence.
